TheDesignOven have been looking into lighting effects, in particular slow shutter and long exposure effects after we found some inspirational photography based around this.

The images above show the original photograph, part of the design process and the final result of the slow shutter photo of TDO's logo.

We have tried to create a soft glow around the dog and changed the light source for the image from top to top right, hopefully capturing the light and glow given from our added faux glowing light.

We are creating another site as an extension to a series we have ongoing here at TDO, and as we often do we flew off on a tangent in Photoshop and came up with this image.

It's nothing spectacular, but we did find it interesting enough to make a little blog post about it.

Very simple and can't have taken more than 5 minutes to do, but the concept can obviously be taken on and developed into something very creative indeed.

Got our creative minds ticking anyway.

Yesterday, we mentioned we were going to be looking into Long Exposure / Slow Shutter Photography as part of an ongoing project here at TheDesignOven.

Today, we bring you the first result of our research into creating the effects that we need.

We have created a concept of an advert TDO, with a floating slow shutter effect whereby the lighting makes up the text.

We recently completed a flyer design to advertise a clients sale.

The retail store, selling designer menswear, were looking for a flyer to advertise their January Sales.

The images shown above show the imagery that we completed for the design, not the completed flyer as it went to print.

We have also included the source image that we used for the design to show our process, as well as a secondary option with a simple colour change.

We have produced a heavily toned image with strong geometric shapes to contrast the frail and innocent photograph of the model.

TheDesignOven have produced a poster to promote recycling. As mentioned in our previous blog post on Friday we were working on a poster design.

The recent success of BBC's David Attenborough documentary 'Frozen Planet' inspired TDO designers to come up with an idea to assist in saving the planet.

Based on a cross section of the Arctic Sea and littered with animals from both poles, the message of the poster is simple... Don't ruin our planet.

We want the beautiful scenes witnessed in the documentary to be around for our children ...

We've been working on a little cross section illustration which we thought we would give you a little teaser too.

We are creating a poster for a website we are working on.

This morning, carrying on from yesterday, we are working on a brand new infographic. We have collated and collected, arranged and sorted through hundreds of facts to bring you some interesting facts and figures on the current situation of UK driving.

TDO have put together the most interesting facts about cars in the UK and we are currently in the middle of arranging this information into a new infographic.

This is just a quick little blog post with a teaser graphic with the style of the graphic.

Over the past couple of (working) days here at TDO, in between completing a few Christmas projects for clients, we have been working on a new illustration just for fun!

We've released a few teaser images such as this vector kettle and this Wacom Tablet pen on our Facebook page, but now is the release of the main image. ...

Between client work that we have got going on at the moment we are spending every spare minute producing a nice 'just for fun' illustration/ infographic.

Today, we added a kettle to the mix!

We really like our coffee here at TheDesignOven so we need a good kettle.

Infographic posters, particularly but not exclusively for the web, have seen a huge boost in popularity recently.

The really nice thing about infographics is they can cover any style of graphic design depending on the topic and nature of the facts and figures. They are an excellent way to display information in a new, modern and exciting way. Even the most corporate of clients are starting to see their use.
